Critical safety warning
This app cannot guarantee ginseng identification. American ginseng has look-alikes, and harvesting regulated or protected plants without proper verification can have serious legal consequences. Never harvest any plant based on this app alone. Always verify with multiple expert sources and check local regulations.
01 Acceptance of terms
By downloading, installing, or using the GinsengHunter application ("App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App. These terms apply to all users of the App.
02 Nature of the service — not professional advice
GinsengHunter uses a trained detection model to assist with ginseng identification. The App is provided for informational and recreational purposes only. The model's identification results are not a substitute for:
- Formal botanical training.
- In-person expert consultation.
- Physical verification of specimens (leaf structure, root form, berry color, etc.).
- Legal verification of applicable state and federal foraging regulations.
03 Assumption of risk
Foraging for wild ginseng is subject to regulation and carries inherent risks. You expressly assume all risks associated with foraging, identification, handling, and harvesting of any plant located using this App. American ginseng (Panax quinquefolius) is a protected or regulated species in many U.S. states — harvesting without proper permits or outside designated seasons may be unlawful.
04 No warranty
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, or accuracy. We do not warrant that detection results are accurate, complete, reliable, or safe as a basis for harvesting decisions.
05 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, GinsengHunter and its developers shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including injury, loss of property, legal penalties, or loss of profits — arising from your use of the App, your reliance on its output, or any identification or foraging decision you make.
06 User responsibilities
- You are solely responsible for verifying any plant identification before harvesting.
- You are responsible for foraging only in locations where you have legal permission to do so.
- You are responsible for complying with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding ginseng collection, including permit requirements and harvest seasons.
- You are responsible for ethical and sustainable harvesting practices, including replanting seeds to support population recovery.
07 Intellectual property
The App, including its detection model, UI, artwork, and branding, is the property of its developers and is protected by copyright and related laws. You may not copy, modify, reverse-engineer, or redistribute any part of the App without written permission.
08 Privacy
Your use of the App is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which describes what we collect, what we don't, and your control over opt-in data submission.
09 Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, a notice inside the App. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
10 Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App's developer resides, without regard to conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the App shall be resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction.
